All the Facebook phone rumors were heard Sunday on the Internet. Facebook denies them. With all of the craze over Smartphone’s right now, it would just make good sense to rival Apple’s iPhone and Android phones for Facebook t hat has 500,000 members to support it. The Nexus One was only here for a short time period. Google’s domination didn’t come into play here. Worse things happened for Microsoft with its Kin. Facebook has looked into getting a Facebook phone although it denies building the cell phone. Some analysts say a Facebook phone is destined to flop because it’s not necessary. Many think that Facebook should be working on the little things before getting its own development platform. For instance, numerous think Facebook should work on its apps on all Smartphone’s.
What to expect from a Facebook phone
There was one place the Facebook phone story began. That place was TechCrunch. Like Apple with the iPhone, Facebook is working with a 3rd party manufacturer in secret to build cell phone software, states Michael Arrington. Arrington thinks the reason a developer left the Google Chrome project in June was to work on the phone for Facebook. He thinks numerous may be interested in an affordable phone for Facebook. The cell phone would allow users to call their friends’ names instead of their numbers.
Alarm was fake, states Facebook
The Facebook phone might be the latest rumor about the company’s intentions that comes to nothing. Facebook states it has no interest in pursuing the production of Smartphone’s. It just wants to integrate with more Smartphone’s. Facebook has its ideas leaked a lot although it just changes them after they’ve been leaked, states CNN. In 2008 rumors arose about a Facebook music service to compete with MySpace Music, but no such service has yet emerged. There was also never everyone seeing the competitor to PayPal which was called “Facebook Wallet”. Facebook made an announcement about that earlier this year. It could be working with EBay’s PayPal to create a new service called Facebook Credits.
Facebook can’t compete
John C. Abell at Wired thinks there would be no purpose for a Facebook phone. ”The tail wagging the dog” is what Abell says the idea of a Facebook cell phone is. He is quite sure that nobody would be willing to give up their iPhone or Android just to get a Facebook cell phone. Robert Scobe thinks Facebook really needs to just be working on developing apps. He is from Business Insider. He talks about all the deficiencies the phone would have. He also said Facebook’s main platform is lacking compared to other services. The only thing that Facebook has that other businesses don’t have are 500,000 users that check in daily.
